Amy Thompson joins Vision's Costume Department...

Costume designer & stylist Amy Thompson was born and raised in Hackney, now based in her studio in South Tottenham. She studied at London College of Fashion where she trained as a costume maker. She has a background in trading vintage clothing, sourcing vintage stock and running stalls across North London. This is where she found a passion for collecting vintage clothing, which has now been transformed into a love for acquiring unique and one-of-a-kind pieces to be used for costume design & styling jobs.

Straight out of university she started designing for low budget music videos and short films and discovered a real love for storytelling and working closely with directors on narrative projects. Thompson has worked on a multitude of NFTS, BFI & Film London short films which led on to designing for her first feature film ‘Sweetheart’ directed by Marley Morrison. ‘Sweetheart’ has gone on to have great festival success and recognition from BAFTA, BIFA and many more. As well as narrative projects she enjoys working on commercials, getting absorbed in the fast paced and creative environment. Having designed commercials for brands such as Toyota, L'Oréal, Coco Pops, Dominos, BUPA, Vinted, Butlins, ASUS. We a very excited to see what’s next for Amy.
